Police in Bauchi State have arrested a medical doctor, who allegedly removed the kidneys of a patient in his private hospital. Dr. Sani, the proprietor of Aminchi Clinic in Yakubu Wanka, Bauchi, was alleged to have removed the two kidneys of one Abubakar Buba from Bununu, who is currently lying critically ill in hospital on dialysis. It was gathered that he needs about N7 million for kidney transplant to survive. The 23-year-old Abubakar fell ill and was taken to the clinic by his parents. His condition was said to have worsened after the doctor allegedly carried out an operation on him. Father of the patient, Alhaji Buba, said “They asked me for N10,000 which they said was for drugs. After sometime, perhaps they understood that my son would not survive, I raised alarm. They now asked us to go to a hospital in Kano. President Goodluck Jonathan met with former Peoples Democratic Party governors from the South-West at the Presidential Villa in Abuja on Monday night. The meeting, it was learnt, was aimed at preparing the ground for Jonathan second term ambition. Apart from this, investigations also showed that the President used the opportunity to appeal to the former governors to ignore insinuations that he had abandoned them. It was learnt that the former Governor of Oyo State, Chief Adebayo Alao-Akala, and a former Governor of Ogun State, Otunba Gbenga Daniel, were among those at the meeting. Presidency sources said the President convened the meeting to disabuse the minds of the former governors that he had ignored them after leaving office.
